A Perspective on New Year's "Resolutions"

Happy 2018
Kindred Spirits!

I'm always looking for a new take on New Year resolutions, since the old fashioned kind never seem to stick with me and are so BORING. You know, lose weight, exercise more, meditate every day, keep a cleaner house, blah, blah, blah.

So instead of the regular goal setting type of resolutions, I have decided to work on my character. I believe one's character can be strengthened, especially if one goes inward and reflects on her thoughts or actions.  Sure, some corners of one's character can be harder to "fix" than others, but why not challenge ourselves anyway?

For help identifying YOUR personal character strengths, check out THIS CHART from VIAcharacter.org.

My character strengths are those associated with creativity, curiosity, and love of learning. However, I can surely use some growth in the perspective and judgement categories.

I also think of myself as being pretty courageous, but often struggle to maintain the zest needed to fulfill my dreams.

There are so many ways to make positive character changes. In fact, eating right, exercising, and mediation are steps that can help make the changes easier to attain.

How about you? What character strengths might you want to strengthen in 2018?
