We have been busy preparing for our evening event: Human Trafficking: A Community Responds coming up on Jan. 8th, 2016 (see side bar for more information).

I would like to introduce Patricia Carley who will be performing a poem about human trafficking written specifically for this event.

Patricia is the Vice-President of Eyes Wide Open NENY, Inc. a newly formed Not-for-Profit dedicated to providing a sanctuary of healing and hope for survivors of human trafficking the Capital District. Patricia is a local artist and author of 4 books who is currently the facilitator of several art and writing programs throughout our local area. She has performed her poetry with the Fulton Street Writers and Rhythms of Troy, NY. Since learning about human trafficking taking place right here she dedicated her time and talents to finding ways of assisting the many victims and survivors and to raising awareness by educating the public to this situation.
