Are Pimps Human Traffickers?

I looked for some "official" answers to this question.
Here's what I found...

Let's see what the FBI has to say about it.

"Many people probably remember movies and television shows depicting pimps as dressing flashy and driving large fancy cars. More important-adults- consensually and voluntarily engaged in the business of prostitution without complaint. This characterization is extremely inaccurate, nothing more than fiction. In reality, the pimp trafficks young women (and sometimes men) completely against their will by force or threat of force; this is human sex trafficking."

From the National Human Trafficking Resource Center:

"The traffickers in street based commercial sex situations are often individual traffickers, more commonly known as "pimps". These traffickers may vary in their relationship to the victim, but are similar in the tactics they employ to recruit, control and exploit their victims. Some traffickers may only be exploiting one or a couple of victims, while others maintain control over a larger group of adults or minors."
